It was noted on the Business Opportunities page that crofts can often usefully provide a site for a business unrelated to the croft management itself. This is obviously true of a woodland croft too and it might be felt that they offer no unique advantages in this respect. However, much as with housing, there is potential for the timber growing on a woodland croft to be used to either construct, and/or heat, businesses premises on the croft.
This, together with the provision of the site itself, can help to reduce the costs of establishing and running a new business venture and contribute to its increased profitability.
